Sunday:

We meet at your hotel in Paris and travel by private motor coach to LA BONNE AMIE, where you will board Your Ship for a welcome reception with Champagne & petits fours, followed by a short cruise before dinner.

Monday:

Cruise to Montereau

Possible excursions :

  • Chateau de Fontainebleau, famous Palace where the French Kings used to hunt
  • Garden Museum of Antoine Bourdelle, showing his famous sculptures.
  • Barbizon, hometown of the Ecole de Fontainebleau painting movement, with the Auberge Gannes where the artist used to live and the many galleries of the village.
  • Moret sur Loing, where the Impressionists took their inspiration,the Candy Museum of the Nuns of Moret,and the house of Clemenceau, stateman of World War I.

Tuesday:

Cruise to the Pont sur Yonne 

  • Chateau Vaux le Vicomte, one of the most beautiful Palace of France, built for Fouquet, finance minister of Louis XIV, which inspired the building of Versailles. Fouquet’s arrest inspired the famous book "The Man with the Iron Mask".
  • Visit a Cheese farm producing the famous Briecheese.
  • Visit Provins, a magnificent medieval town in the near Champagne region with 12th and 13th cent. fortified walls and picturesque wooden houses and its Medieval & Renaissance Museum. Shopping available.

Wednesday:

Cruise and mooring in the City Center of Sens.

  • Cathedral St Etienne & Synodal Palace, where the bishops used to live. Magnificent collection of Religious Art and private collection of the bishops, and impressive  Gallo-Roman archeological treasure. Shopping available.

Thursday:

Cruise to Joigny,along the vineyards of Burgundy.

  • Pick-nick and extensive visit & wine tasting of the most famous Chardonnay in Chablis, called the "golden gate of Burgundy",a pretty village with narrow stone streets and houses dating from the 14th and 16th cent.

Friday:

Cruise to Auxerre, a beautiful Medieval town and pleasant Port on the Yonne river.

  • Shopping available in this bustling city. Cobblestone pedestrian streets in the old quater and Open Market.
  • Visit & tasting at an Escargot Farm.

Saturday:

After Breakfast, transfer to your hotel in Paris.

Please note that on alternate weeks the route of travel is reversed.
